On the occasion of World Environment Day 2024, Project Point Odisha organized an impactful programme at the LHSD (Lingaraj High School Dangarapada) Premises to raise awareness on environmental conservation and climate action. The event was held under the global theme "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience" as declared by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
The programme featured a series of activities including:
Tree Plantation Drive to promote greenery and biodiversity
Awareness Rally and Slogan Campaign involving local youth and community members
Interactive Session on Environmental Issues with experts and social workers
Poster & Essay Competitions among school students on climate responsibility
More than 150 participants, including students, youth volunteers, local community leaders, and environmental activists, joined hands to celebrate the day with commitment and enthusiasm. Project Point Odisha reiterated its dedication towards sustainable development, grassroots action, and empowering youth for climate leadership.
The event concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony to protect the environment and promote eco-friendly practices in daily life.
